Children’s 12-Art Class (in-group)

Valid for in-person and online classes
Ages 4-12 or 12-18 groups

Learn, create, and discover the world of art through a creative journey that can be enjoyed both in the studio and from home. The Art Without Borders programme introduces young artists to a different artist, culture, or artistic approach each week, combining storytelling, practical demonstrations, and step-by-step creative projects.

Students are encouraged to explore different artistic materials, learn fundamental art concepts, and develop their own creative ideas with guidance from an experienced art teacher throughout the process.

What Young Artists Will Explore

  • Discover a different artist from around the world each week
  • Learn about artists, their lives, ideas, and creative approaches
  • Get to know and experiment with different art materials and techniques
  • Learn the basics of colour theory and colour mixing
  • Explore light, shadow, colour, form, and composition
  • Follow step-by-step drawing and painting demonstrations
  • Develop an artwork from the initial idea and sketch through to the finished project
  • Receive guidance and feedback from the teacher throughout the creative process
  • Experiment with different techniques while developing their own artistic style
  • Build confidence in expressing their ideas through art

From Idea to Finished Artwork

Each class follows a clear creative process, whether you join us in person or online. Students begin by learning about the featured artist and exploring the ideas, techniques, and materials behind their work.

The teacher then guides the group step by step through the project, from the first sketch and preparation of materials to developing and completing the final artwork.

In-person students can explore materials directly in the studio, work alongside their classmates, observe demonstrations closely, and receive individual guidance from the teacher. Online students can follow the same creative process from home using a recommended materials list and participate in the live class with the group.

The focus is not on simply copying an artwork. Instead, students learn from each featured artist and use their work as inspiration to experiment, make creative decisions, and create something of their own.

Learning Through Different Artists

Each week, students encounter a new artist from a different part of the world. They explore different styles, techniques, materials, and ways of thinking about art.

These artists become a starting point for experimentation and discovery, helping students understand that there are many different ways to create, communicate, and see the world.
