Secil is an artist and educator with a pedagogical qualification and extensive experience in teaching visual arts and designing creative educational programs.
She studied Graphic Design, Photography, and Fine Arts Education in Istanbul, where she also completed pedagogical training to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a teacher. In 2018, she furthered her studies in drawing and painting through short courses at London’s art academies.
She sees art as a powerful force for cultural change; a tool for reflection, connection, and transformation. Her figurative artistic practice explores global, political, and environmental themes. Her work has been exhibited internationally at prestigious institutions and venues, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam, the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, and Cumhuriyet Museum in Istanbul.
As an educator, Secil teaches drawing, painting, and a wide range of creative art techniques through one-to-one lessons, group courses, workshops, art therapy sessions, and corporate and children’s programs. She has extensive experience in educational design and working with both adults and children. She has also developed and delivered educational projects supported by cultural foundations, including the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK) and Jeugdfonds.
